Local CPA Firm’s Founding Partner Honored at the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce Gala

December 9, 2009 DeLeon & Stang is pleased to announce that Allen DeLeon, CPA, PFS, Partner, was recently honored as the Outgoing Chairman of the Board of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce (GGCC) at its gala on December 3rd, 2009. “It has been an honor and privilege to serve the members of the Gaithersburg-Germantown Chamber of Commerce for 2009,” said DeLeon. “This has been a challenging year due to the recession but one in which the GGCC had a record number of networking events and ably represented its members on several legislative issues, including the Germantown Master Plan, the Gaithersburg West Master Plan and the Corridor Cities Transit Way (CCT).” In addition to DeLeon’s honor, the GGCC President, Marilyn Balcombe, received the “You Made a Difference Award” and was named “One of the Most Influential Women Leaders in Montgomery County, Maryland” by the Gaithersburg Gazette. Also receiving the “You Made a Difference Award” was Randy Scritchfield, President of Montgomery Financial Group, an investment and financial planning firm in Damascus, Maryland. Scritchfield is also a former chairman of the GGCC. The GGCC fosters business-to-business relationships through monthly networking events throughout the year. The Chamber is committed to business and community partnerships in education and other areas of mutual interest.
