Local Accountant Receives CIA Designation

August 31, 2009 Gaithersburg, MD – DeLeon & Stang, CPAs and Advisors is pleased to announce that Rebecca Xiang has obtained her Certified Internal Auditor® (CIA®) designation. “We are proud of Rebecca for her accomplishment, which is a big step for any professional in the accounting industry,” says Allen DeLeon, CPA, PFS Partner of DeLeon & Stang. “Rebecca is an integral part of our team and I am confident she will effectively use her CIA® designation to grow as a professional.” The Institute of Internal Auditors’ CIA® certification is the only globally accepted designation for internal auditors. The CIA exam, which consists of four parts, remains the standard by which individuals demonstrate their comprehensive competence and professionalism in the internal auditing field. Xiang joined DeLeon & Stang in 2007. In her role as a staff accountant, she provides specialized tax, accounting and consulting services to the firm’s clients. Xiang works with a variety of clients, with a primary focus on credit unions, and nonprofit and small for-profit organizations. Xiang holds a degree in accounting from McGill University. In addition, she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in tourism English from Xi’an Foreign Language University. Xiang is a member of the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA) and the McGill University Alumni Association. She currently resides in North Potomac, Maryland with her husband and children.
