FREDERICK, MD, Jun 10, 2022—DeLeon & Stang team members spent the day volunteering at Frederick News Post Community Garden alongside Master Gardner David Muns.

Frederick News Post Garden is one of Hood College’s Frederick Food Security Network partner gardens. Hood College’s Frederick Food Security Network is a network of community gardens that grow organic fruit and vegetables. Each garden’s harvest is distributed to members of the community that are in need. David Muns has been managing the Frederick News Post Garden since it was started in 2016.

Seven members of the DeLeon & Stang team helped David tend to the garden plots. DeLeon & Stang’s Aroosa Khan organized the event and is a regular volunteer at the garden.

In addition to volunteering, the team was given an educational tour where they saw hundreds of plots of gardens filled with fresh produce and beautiful flowers for community members to enjoy. David taught the group all about gardening and the importance of pollination.

The firm plans to have more volunteer workdays at the garden later this year.
