DeLeon & Stang Partners with Heartly House for Annual Sailing Through the Winter Solstice Event in Frederick
FREDERICK, MD, February 10, 2022—Every winter in Frederick, amongst the cool temperatures and winter darkness, sailboats shine brightly from Carroll Creek for a great cause. Carroll Creek is home to the annual “Sailing through the Winter Solstice.” Twenty-two ships, each uniquely dressed in lights, line the creek from mid-November to early February. This is the second year DeLeon & Stang has had the honor of participating in this event. This year DeLeon & Stang got to decorate the boat Reel Fun and partner with Heartly House.
Choosing the Cause
Every company that sponsors a boat also chooses a charity to partner with. Everyone at DeLeon & Stang voted between several Fredrick-based philanthropies and selected Heartly House.
Heartly House
Heartly House provides comprehensive services to domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse survivors. It is the only organization in Frederick County, Maryland, dedicated to providing comprehensive services to these survivors.

Color on the Creek
Color On The Creek is a completely volunteer-inspired and managed water garden located in the Carroll Creek Linear Park, which runs through the heart of downtown Frederick Maryland. Created in 2012, the garden transformed an algae-plagued creek into a place of real beauty. The water garden blooms from April through October and is open and free to the public.

Heartly House
Heartly House is the only organization in Frederick County, Maryland that provides comprehensive services to survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and child abuse. They have been providing these services since 1979.
